Jam Dance

Jam Dance is a community capacity building  program for helping communities learn how to mix and play with people who have different abilities, brains and bodies.  It is a fun, improvised movement and musical experience that fosters belonging and healthy  social engagement.   Participants are guided through a variety of individual and group activities ranging from joyous, raucous expression to listening, seeing and attuning to each other.  We may move like the wind, create a group sculpture, play with the sound of our name and explore many other ways to move and interact with the live improvised music.   Sessions are facilitated with the help of live musicians who love to improvise.   Please get in touch if you are interested in learning how to facilitate this kind of integrated community capacity building program where you live…

Like any jam, we never know what exactly will come out.  That leap into the unknown is part of the excitement and a big part of the joy as the group literally creates new “living” music together!

No experience required. Everyone is welcome!

Jam Dance is inspired by the work of Alana Shaw from Turning The Wheel Productions in Boulder, Colorado, USA.  See:  https://www.turningthewheel.org/
