October is the traditional time of Thanksgiving, All Souls and rich Autumn colours. A time of frosty trees shedding leaves and preparing for Winter. Harvest gathered in, wood piles stacked, chimneys cleaned and everyone remembering who we are and where we came from as well as what we are here to create for ourselves and each other. A time for sharing good dreams and watching good movies like those offered at the Devour Food and Film Festival.
This is also a time of transformation and opportunity for visioning a future beyond the Winter that is coming. A time of introspection and a time of fellowship and celebrations where all people are invited and welcome. A time of art and music and cinema and joy. A time for sharing and celebrating who we are in all of our diversity.
This is also a time for planting seeds. A time to think beyond disintegration to what can be in the Spring to come. A time to plan for healthy social integration and a future where we all prosper.
